Secrets to balancing motherhood and career while looking flawless with Jeanene Mack, Personal Stylist

“I love working with all women but especially mothers. I know first hand how difficult it is to juggle the day to day activities of the family without losing yourself in the midst of it.”

Do you have any favorite creative activities you do with your kids?

Being a stylist and having 2 little girls is basically a dream come true. They love to play dress up and i have a special bin that I keep my old jewelry in for them to wear. Once we are all dressed up, I turn on some music and we all dance around like 3 crazies. It is so much fun and it also helps all 3 of us de-stress and unwind.

Do you have any advice to moms trying to balance career and family?

Don’t try and do it all yourself. I know as mothers it is easy to feel responsible for our kids, partners and the entire household but it is ok to ask for help. If you are worn out and grouchy all the time it isn’t positive for anyone. Try not to feel guilty about hiring a nanny or having your partner take the kids for a few hours so you can have some time to yourself.

How did becoming a mom change your career goals?

Before I had kids, I was just finishing up my Masters in Psychoanalysis and wanted to pursue having my own practice. A big career change came when I found myself becoming a single mom. I wanted to be there for my girls as much as possible so, I made the decision to start a business that not only allowed me to be flexible with my time but also centered around helping other women feel confident and independent. I love working with all women but especially mothers. I know first hand how difficult it is to juggle the day to day activities of the family without losing yourself in the midst of it. Seeing my kids beautiful little faces everyday is a constant reminder that I am exactly where I should be.

Do you have any resources (websites, magazines, books, etc) that you’d recommend to moms interested in pursuing a career as a stylist?

Yes! Michelle Rodriguez at The Paid Stylist is amazing. Not only is she a mentor but she is a friend. I know that if I ever need advice or am lost in my business I can call her. If you are interested in pursuing a career as a Personal Stylist, I highly recommend that you go through her program first.

Thank you to Jeanene for all of her keen insights. We are thoroughly impressed by her brave life choices and creative ambition. Not to mention that she and her daughters are so cute and stylish!
